TECHNICAL CONDITIONS - For the supply of locks and builders’ hardware
Issued in 2003 by the members of the Nordic Locks and Builders’ Hardware Committee (Jernvarebransjens Leverandørforening, Norway, Teknikföretagen, Sweden, Teknologiateollisuus ry, Finland, and lock and builders’ hardware manufacturers in Dansk Industri, Denmark).
Application

These Technical Conditions shall apply when the parties agree in writing or otherwise thereto and they have not been altered by a written agreement between the parties. The General Conditions for the supply of machinery and other mechanical, electrical and electronic equipment NL 01 in and between Denmark, Finland, Norway and Sweden shall also apply. |
Standards and catalogues

Unless otherwise agreed, the locks and builders’ hardware to be delivered shall comply with the standards applied in the manufacturing country. Should no generally accepted standard exist, the articles to be delivered shall comply with the Seller’s catalogues valid on the date of delivery and/or quality standards generally applied by the Seller. |
Surface of fittings and mountings

The surface of fittings and mountings referred to here is the surface visible after the article in question has been fitted or mounted. |
Locking system

In a locking system, the function and place of each lock shall be determined by identifying the position of each lock within the system and the keys fitting to each lock. Each lock configuration shall be provided with a coded identification mark. The locking system shall be built up, if technically possible, to meet the requirements of the Buyer and according to the lock configuration approved by the Buyer. |

The locks, cylinders and/or keys to be delivered shall bear the locking system identification mark as well as lock and key numbers corresponding to the lock configuration. |

The Seller shall remain the owner of the lock configuration. Unless otherwise agreed, the Seller shall be obliged to keep the approved lock configuration available for ten years after delivery. |
Delivery of additional keys and parts
7. |
Additional keys and cylinders manufactured and marketed by the Seller shall not be delivered by others without the Seller’s authorization and control. |
Liability for defects
8. |
The Seller shall, over and above the provisions of Clauses 9-10 and the Clauses concerning liability for defects in NL 01, remedy and defect caused through faults in the construction, material or manufacture of the articles. |

As a deviation from the provisions in Clauses 23 and 33 of NL 01, the Seller’s liability is limited to defects which appear within a period of two years after the lock or piece of builders’ hardware was taken into use, however, not later than within three years from the date of delivery. |

Over and beyond the provisions in Clause 22 of NL 01, the Seller shall not be liable for defects caused by the use of parts other than original ones or by changes made by the Buyer in an original part. Key blanks are, in this connection, also considered such parts. |
Supply of spare parts
11. |
Unless otherwise agreed, the Seller shall be obliged to stock spare parts for the locks and builders’ hardware for a minimum period of five years from the original date of delivery. The spare parts shall be supplied according to the date of their delivery. |
